ohhh yeah
Alex is a leader, but like any good leader he has genuine concern for those he commands. His other concern is himself. He's self-reliant, self centred, and very into himself both positively and negatively. His personal advancement and physical satisfaction are more often than not a priority. He has a strong domineering personality that radiates an immense energy. It's almost too much for him at times and this leads to a dark bottomless feeling of restlessness that can only be cured by finding the next new thrill.
Alex needs to be doing something. He's easily irritated by slowness or moderation in his friends. If there isn't something going on, he'll start it. If no one wants to join him, he'll force them to look at the situation in a new way until they're just as happy with it as he is. He wants the best for his friends and hates to see them doing or saying something that he doesn't think is beneficial. His presence feels almost over-bearing and he has a tendency to overshadow even the strongest of personalities.
He hates criticism, and rarely feels that it's justified. He likes a good challenge and loves to better someone whether they know it or not. He likes to be there first and know everything that's going on every second. He likes to have the first word and the last. He's quick witted, but also quick tempered. If you've offended him, he's capable of holding a grudge longer than you can remember what you did. His nature is to push or be pushed, there is no middle ground. He also likes to laugh.
Alex is prone to have plenty of crushes and short-lived yet intense desires (as in five minutes on the street never see you again). Though when more serious relationships are considered, Alex is lazily weary. He has a cynical view of romance that can easily be summed up with the phrase "doomed to fail". That's not to say he isn't a romantic, he just doesn't see the point in putting a lot of effort into something that's just going to end anyway. In some ways he gets more gratification from skirting around the edges of something great rather than going straight for the heart of it; because once you're there, there's nowhere else to go and things become routine, boring. The delicate balance between love and romantic vagueness does wear on Alex, but he loves to feel there's always more he could be feeling.
Overall, Alex is a good man, a good person to know, and a strong friend if you can handle him.
